Farming strategy

 

Are you finding it difficult to farm Gold, Elixir & Dark Elixir for your upgrades? Follow these tips to improve your raiding capabilities so you never have to worry about resources & idle workers again.

 

Once you know the concept, it applies for all townhall levels.

 

 

League

 

Whichever league that you feel gets you the most abandoned bases. Its preference, and there's no hard & fast rule. Personally, at townhall 10, I'm fairly comfortable in Crystal 1 & 2 (trophy range of 2300-2500) with plenty of abandoned bases.

 

 

Troops

 

Popular troop compositions (in no particular order):

 

1) Barch (Barbarians + Archers)

2) GiBarch (Giants + Barbarians + Archers)

3) BAM (Barbarians + Archers + Minions)

4) SuperQueen

Once again, its individual preference. Personally, I go purely with Barch (1 barrack Barbarians & 3 barracks Archers). I don't like having to deal with various troops in a normal raid. I find it complicated. I just want to attack and do other stuff like cook dinner while troops re-train.

 

How do I deploy them? I send in a few Barbarians on each mine & collector to act as the meat shield for the Archers that I deploy immediately after. I only raid dead or near dead bases as its easily to get resources from collectors that vaults. How to identify a dead base? See below.

 

How about the clan castle troops? I use Giants. However, I ONLY use my clan castle troops if I'm trying to maintain some trophies to get that 50%. If I'm able to get 50% without my clan castle troops. I will not use them.

 

How about Royals? I reserve my Royals for 2 purposes. Firstly, to get that 50%. Secondly to get as much resources as I can if my Barch are all gone.

 

 

Understanding the Barracks

 

Understanding how the barracks work will help you loot faster while farming.

 

Here's what everyone is aware of:

- Even if your army camps are full, the barracks will train that 1 last queued troop to be ready.

- For example, a Wizard will still be trained even if there's no space for it to leave the barrack to enter an army camp.

 

Here's what many is unaware of:

- When you start searching for a base, the barracks carry on training troops beyond that 1 last queued troop.

- For example, you have been searching for a base by clicking "Next" for the past 20 minutes, you finally found a base. Your raid on the base lasted 3 minutes. When you end the battle, you will have 23 minutes of troops immediately ready and NOT 3 minutes of troops ready, since that's when you 1st deployed your troop which will allow space in your army camps to open up.

- This training counter resets IF you stop your search and return to your base.

- For example, you have been searching for a base by clicking 'Next" for the past 20 minutes, you get tired and decide to stop the search to return to your base. You decide to search again, this time you find a base in 5 minutes. Your raid on the base lasted 3 minutes. When you end the battle, you will only have 8 minutes of troops immediately ready, NOT 3 minutes, and NOT 28 minutes. This is because when you stopped the search at the 20 minute mark to return to your base, you reset the training counter in your barracks.

 

Therefore, if you want to farm faster and more efficiently, remember this 2 key points:

 

1) Always fill up your barracks before searching.

2) Never return to your base before completing an attack.

 

The more time you save, the more loot  you can raid.

 

 

Spells

 

I personally do not use any spells. But if you must, popular spell used during raids are Rage, Heal & Jump spell. A point to note: spells no longer affect resource structures. Therefore dropping a Lightning spell on vaults will do absolutely nothing.
